Years ago, as a young teen, I went with my church Youth Group to a retreat at Lake Simcoe in Ontario, Canada. It was there that God, the Lord of the universe, touched my heart and called me to serve Him. The confusion, the tears, the remorse, all had a purpose that campfire evening as God drew me to Himself. Several days later my need to make a choice at this critical crossroads became clear, and as I was praying for answers, the words flowed from my pen in what I now refer to as my very first poem, titled, “What More Could You Ask of Him?” The peace that settled over me confirmed His complete forgiveness and I knew then that I fully belonged to Jesus!
To this day, the words continue to flow from my pen as inspiration hits me, albeit, not nearly as often as in those early days of drinking in the newfound love and grace of Jesus, my Savior!
I am forever grateful to God for this precious gift given to one whose thoughts speak louder than her mouth.
