I’ve written a number of poems for you
I hope you don’t think I’m already through
Expressing my thoughts and love in this form
By now you would know that this is the norm.
It’s been quite a while that you’ve been away
Working in other states, day after day
We both know that God has been using this time
To change our lives — both yours and mine!
He keeps nudging us in the way we should go
It must give Him pleasure to watch us grow
Powerful and significant changes
We marvel often, how He rearranges
Things that we gave, not a second thought
Yet the Father who cares has carefully sought
Our attention where we, needed changes made
His plans for us have been carefully laid.
Since you’ve been spending much time out-of-town
He’s turned our relationship upside-down
Only to put it back together
In a way that’s delightful, and even better!
Our love for each other just keeps increasing
And things are becoming much less confusing
He has turned our priorities inside-out
To show us His ways, there is no doubt.
And though we may wonder what lies ahead
We have come so far, being Spirit-led
May He give us courage and patience divine
To let Him work details out, in His time
And if we wonder, just why does God bother?
Because we matter to Him, our Heavenly Father.
Yes! We need to praise Him for who He is
And thank Him for calling us, to be His!
