Worthy Is The Lamb

This song begins with the cross and ends on the throne! It begins with a lamb and ends with a King! It begins with forgiveness and ends in victory! It begins in the Gospels and ends with Revelation and the coming glory!

The included performance is a medley by Sounds Like Reign, a family of singers who love to sing and make music to the Lord!

Darlene Zschech wrote this song in 2001. A prolific song-writer and Australian singer and worship leader, Darlene has written over 100 songs. She began her singing career as one of many voices singing international commercial jingles as a young child. Darlene became well known for her involvement with Australia-based Hillsong Church from 1996 to 2006 before going solo.

Darlene married Mark Zschech in 1984 and together they have 3 daughters, several sons-in-law and 5 grandchildren. In 2019, Darlene spoke about her battle with cancer and how through this difficult experience she found that worship gave her soul a way to bring praise to God when she simply couldn’t find it in the natural.

Rumor has it that at one point Darlene recorded an album filled with well-loved hymns for her grandfather and other senior members of the church. As one who loves hymns and hymn-singing, I do love that idea and found hymns featured on several of her albums.

This particular song, Worthy is the Lamb, has become another favorite of mine. With so much of it referencing God’s Word, I cannot help but think of it as an anthem of gratitude!

Worthy Is The Lamb
(Written by Darlene Zschech)

Thank you for the cross, Lord
Thank you for the price You paid
Bearing all my sin and shame
In love You came
And gave amazing grace

Thank you for this love Lord
Thank you for the nail pierced hands
Washed me in Your cleansing flow
Now all I know
Your forgiveness and embrace

[Chorus]
Worthy is the Lamb
Seated on the throne
Crown You now with many crowns
You reign victorious
High and lifted up
Jesus Son of God
The Darling of Heaven crucified
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
