Strong On the Inside

(For Amanda at Easter)

The other day I saw your Bible
Laying on the coffee table,
And once again my mother-heart
Rejoiced to know that you’re a part
Of those who choose in Christ to abide
And allow Him to make them strong inside.

May you boldly strengthen your daily walk
And may God give you the courage to talk
To share your life and faith with others
Inviting them to become Christ’s brothers.
Faith and trust you won’t have to hide
If you become strong, on the inside.

We don’t know what the future will bring
But that God’s in control of everything
The way things are going in our world
At any time our faith could be swirled
Are you strong, on the inside
To keep from floating away with the tide?

Always look to the Father above
For He alone can truly love
And guide His children in the way
That they should take, and never stray
Trust Him as your strength and guide
And you will keep growing, stronger inside.
