The Story of Jesus

Long ago in Bethlehem
Jesus Christ was born among men
In a stable meek and mild
Was born this precious little child

The star shone to proclaim His birth
Frankincense and gold and myrrh
Were brought to this little one
Who was the Father’s only son

The child grew up to be a man
As was the Heavenly Father’s plan
A perfect image in God’s sight
Did only what was good and right

The time then came as was foretold
By men of God, prophets of old
As mankind cried out the news
“Away with Him! Let’s crucify the King of Jews!”

And this they did that very day
God had planned it all that way
The afternoon was dark as night
For what they did was not right

Then three days later Christ arose
He did it all in love of those
Who sorely mocked and spat at Him
Yet in love did bear all sin

Now all of us have been made free
The blood of Christ was shed for me
And each one knows what HE must do
In order to be made anew

For now the time is almost here
For Christ’s coming, it is near
When Christ comes to claim His own
Will you be one that’s left at home?

Too late to turn to Christ the King
For that’s the end of everything
Eternity is all that’s left
You have the choice of life or death

Please dear soul examine yourself
For worldly pleasure and earthly wealth
Will all pass away…gone they will be
Your soul shall pass into eternity!
