Petition

Here am I before You Lord
With my anxious troubled heart.
The burdens weighing on my mind
How I wish they’d never start
It seems too many times they come
Each time they’re bigger still
Each one is harder than the last
How can this be Your will?

So often Lord my heart cries out
With these same words to You
Again today they’re on my mind
Lord, this will never do.
Forgive me Father, for I’ve strayed
From Your ever-present love
My mind, my thoughts just haven’t been
On things that are above.

When trials come and things go wrong
My cry to You should be
Lord, send strength and love and grace
Lord, give me eyes to see.
How I’ve been wrong; what I should do
Dear Lord, help me forgive
To show I love, and also Lord
To show for Whom I live!

So help me, Lord, from day to day
To take my all to You
Remind me when things do go wrong
That I know what to do.
Although it’s really easy to
Blame anyone who’s near
It’s best by far to take my cares
To You, my Lord so dear!
