Nurturing

As I watch you with your little lad
My heart is warmed ‘cause it makes me glad
To witness the sharing, to smile at the fun
And love exchanged between you and your son.

Now I’ve questioned God for I want to know
Just where did you learn to nurture so?
For your own boyhood and 60’s upbringing
Was not all smiles and roses and singing.
Has God performed a great work in your life,
To free you from conflict, bondage, and strife?

Our Father who calls and cares for His children
Conveys grace and love beyond comprehension.
Though at times we hurt and kick up a fuss
God remains a living example for us!

He teaches the teachable. Thank Him each day.
For He loves to show there’s a better way
To guide our own children in ways they should go
To nurture and love them, as they daily grow.

I share with you also, a simple thanks
For letting me have a weekly chance
To spend some time with your little boy
It brings satisfaction and so much joy!
This has become such a special adventure
God is using to teach me, too, how to nurture!
