Another year of my life in the Lord is gone…
I sit back and examine the things that are done
The things I’ve accomplished; the mistakes that I’ve made
Oft times brought me low, but His love didn’t fade.
God has truly been present in all of these things
The joys and sorrows and all that life brings.
With each new sorrow came a greater joy
In doing the things which God does employ
Each of the failures that I’ve come across
Have brought zeal and counted gain, but not loss.
The temptations and trials that never cease
Have brightened my path and brought me much peace
When with God’s help they were overcome
I was engulfed with the feeling of victory won!
The manifold blessing He showered upon me
Have strengthened my faith, undeserved though it be.
All of these things have not been done on my own
By God’s love and grace and strength alone
Have I been able to learn so much.
My only request for the years to come
“Lord, help me in striving to reach that goal
To serve Thee humbly and wholeheartedly
with HEART, MIND and SOUL!
