“LOVE” is such a common word
Which every one of us has heard.
Yet how many really know
The depth of love, Christ does bestow
Within the hearts of Christ’s own members
Rooted and woven upon God’s love embers.
A love so deep, so pure and true
Given to the chosen few.
Only those who know Christ’s love
Have received from God above
A heart just filled to running over,
With love for every Sister and Brother.
Truly this love is a gift from the Lord
As gentle as beauty, as sharp as a sword
If it would be lost to things that are vain
We’ll never know it’s full measure again.
Therefore us, who received it so free from above
Let’s jealously guard this love!
