The day was done
The sun had set,
Campfire had just begun.
They began to sing,
And described my life
I knew the time had come.
I told myself
I wouldn’t cry
I wasn’t sure somehow…
Almost persuaded,
That’s what I was
They asked me, “Why not now?”
They told me of
God’s wondrous love.
My eyes, they stung with tears
My heart cried out
“Lord take me now!
You’ve been calling me for years!
But I, as stubborn
As I was
Would not let you in.
So help me, Lord,
And heal me, Lord,
Remove the weight of sin!”
Then God, He came
And touched my heart
And cleansed, and made me whole!
All I can say now
Is thank you Lord
So much, for saving my soul!
When day was done
And sun had set
When God called from on high.
My heart cried out
In pleading tones,
“Oh, Lord, don’t pass me by.”
