Talents

God gave us each a measure of talents we must use
For His delight and pleasure He did them for us choose
We should use them to His glory as we multiply our share
And send out the gospel story to people everywhere
If anyone should bury their talent from the Lord
It shall be taken from them ‘tis written in His Word.

Some folks say they have no talent, are you one of them?
For God indeed has promised to all His children
At least one special talent to bring glory to His name
To say we have no talent – – we are the ones to blame
A talent is ability, an aptitude or gift
Our job is to use it – – giving other folks a lift.

If still you feel you have none because you cannot teach
Or sing, or write, or sew, listen, organize, or preach
Then think again, God gave each one, some TIME every day
Which is up to use to spend, in the most useful way
We all can visit, share or pray – – God wants these things done
So we must never, ever say – “Talents? I have none!”
