Prepare Yourself

Before you left camp, Christ called you one day
You made promises to Him
You broke them all as you went on your way,
And continued to live in sin
The rest of the year, you spend as you pleased
When camp-time came ‘round, you were down on your knees
Making the promises over again
Just to continue to break them again.

Days and weeks and years have passed,
Nothing really seems to last.
Even though you continue to
Make and break promises many times anew
Don’t kid yourself, you need Jesus
Without Him life is worthless
Life on earth may seem so grand
But someday before Him you will stand
It’s your choice now, choose this day
You know yourself there’s but one way
To God, which is through Jesus Christ
Who alone did sacrifice
His life on Calvary
From sin and guilt to set us free.

The day is coming soon my friend
When Christ from Heaven will descend
In power and great glory,
Oh what a sad, sad story
If when I meet Him in the air
I’ll look and find that you’re not there.
Prepare yourself to meet the Lord
Then we’ll rejoice in one accord!
