God’s Will

I want Your will in my life, oh Lord
As You have spoken through Your Word
And described the wondrous glory of
And described Your matchless love

Sometimes, as now, I find it hard
To yield myself in this regard
For my stubborn, human feelings will
My heart with lust and self-desires fill

So easy to say “Thy will be done”
Until I again am overcome
With a decision that needs to be made
And then, once again, I seek Your aid

Knowing full-well what I want to do
At the same time, I want to please You
Only You can make this decision for me
For You know what You want me to be

So take me, break me, melt me, mold me
Shake me, scold me, bless and hold me
In the palm of Your dear hand
And help me someday understand

That all You choose is best for me
For all that You want me to be
Now take this burden from my heart
And of Your will, make me a part.
