(Isaiah 43:1-3)
God know the plans He has for you
For good and not for bad.
Things seem so bleak, unfair and harsh
For it makes no one glad.
How can it be that at this time
A job comes to an end,
For someone who is so sincere
And everybody’s friend?
For someone who works hard and does
The things he needs to do
At work, at home, and in-between.
What are things coming to?
For now your world seems very dark
This isn’t what you’ve planned.
Has this really come your way,
From a loving Father’s hand?
How hard it is to trust that God
Has plans to give you hope.
When with fear and trepidation
You wonder how you’ll cope.
And you wonder how you will provide
For your growing family.
For another job to come along
Just how long will it be?
How I wish I had some answers
Yet I myself don’t know
How long it takes to get beyond
Such a drastic blow!
And yet I’ve learned this God we serve
Who calls us each by name
Makes changes in our lives that cause
Us never to be the same.
For though to us things may seem bleak
We may fear life and health
Still He uses circumstances
To draw us closer to Himself.
So much God has to teach us.
Will we ever learn it all?
Sometimes we need to go through fire
In responding to His call.
He has promised to walk with us
Through the fire and the flood
He will guide our every step
Though we wallow through the mud.
“Fear not,” says He, “I have redeemed you.
I have called you by your name.
You are mine, I am your Savior. And by my grace
My grace alone, your life will never be the same!”
