Driftin’ Blues

I remember the time when you went away
Yes, we knew back then, it’d be more than a day
But now I fear, it’s been more than a year
And oh, I want you near!

CHORUS: Oh, it’s the saddest news Though there’ve been subtle clues … that we’re drifting Let’s not tear apart These two loving hearts … it’s not uplifting

Well, let’s not pretend that everything’s fine
‘Cause the truth is, that I want you to be mine
Though my dear, I’ve shed many a tear
‘cause oh, I want you near

To build up our love just what will it take
How many new ways can we communicate
The time is here, to trust and not fear
always, I want you near

Lord, I’m so thankful for what You have done
The gifts you have given, especially Your Son
I’m just overwhelmed by Your love for me
For blessings as far as my eyes can see

You’ve given me Dave, a husband who cares
And loves me though not all my frustrations he shares
But still he’s the man that you’ve put in my life
To complete one another in good times and strife.
