Gentle Nudgings

“Be still and know that I am God.
And him who has ears, let him hear.”
God wasn’t in the wind or fire
Nor the earthquake that caused fear.
Instead, He used a still, small voice
To make His message clear.

In gentle whispers when He speaks
To nudge me through the day.
My stubborn self when filled with fear
Prompts me to turn away
Stop striving. That’s what I need to do
And let God have His way!

Lord, I need courage for each step
You show me I should take.
I trust the promise in Your Word
That bonds of fear You’ll break.
Show me today what I must do
To serve for Jesus’ sake.
