Broken Dreams

I once had many goals and dreams.
Was filled with hope and plans and schemes.
Things I desired to do for the Lord.
Enough to keep busy and never be bored.

Then crashing down, my world it came,
I knew I’d never be the same.
As the Potter broke this lump of clay,
To shape and re-make in a different way.

And while I learned and prayed and wept
My God His arms around me kept
Transformed me from the inside out
I’ve been renewed, there is no doubt!

Still fear holds me back and I often weep
For my dreams now lie in a broken heap
To pick up the pieces, to fully remake
And put them together, what will it take?

Dear Jesus, show me one at a time
The dreams You’ve chosen to be mine
Push me forward, give courage I pray
As I daily choose to live Your way.
