I remember the days we spent together
Gramma and I, in all kinds of weather.
Days full of fun and surprises anew
I remember the times that I hurt her too.
So loving, forgiving, she didn’t seem to mind,
She was always so thoughtful, so gentle and kind.
When she got sick, she so patiently bore
All of that which the Lord had in store.
She didn’t ask why, she didn’t complain,
She just trusted the Lord and bore all the pain.
Now her life on earth is passed
A servant of God, she stood firm and fast.
The pain and the anguish, she has been through
All of this is over too.
So thankful to the Lord I am,
For taking Gramma home to Him.
In Heaven’s portals she will go.
For there she will no more pain know
No more sorrow, tears or anguish bear
For only happiness is there.
Although my heart aches and tears freely flow
I know she’s at rest, yet I miss her so.
Someday, I too will leave earth’s shore
And I will see my Gramma once more!
