Jesus left Heaven above
Left God and His glory for love
Of an unworthy sinner as I.
Came down to the earth here beneath
To sin, distrust, unbelief
To an unworthy sinner as I.
Jesus died a cruel death on the cross
Suffered guilt and shame and loss
For an unworthy sinner as I.
Jesus lives for He rose again
After He was so cruelly slain
By an unworthy sinner as I.
Jesus reigns Lord and King of all
Reigns for people great and small
And an unworthy sinner as I.
He’s coming again very soon
In the morning, night, or noon
For an unworthy sinner as I.
